Does Being Fair Matter?
by Michael Feeley
What do you judge yourself on?
What standards, values, and ideals do you live by?
How important is it to you to be ethical, just, and fair to other people and things?
I watch gardeners be fair and unfair in cutting grass, weeding, and pruning.
I watch waiters serving people with care and apathy.
I watch government officials work ethically to improve people’s lives, but I also see them promote only their own agenda, comfort, and power.
We always make choices, and our choices (our thoughts, the words we use, and our actions) will make us feel good or bad about ourselves and also affect others.
Ethics is conscious and unconscious with results.
