Challenges and Love Fit Together
by Michael Feeley
With our world health concerns I’m thinking about both the challenges and trouble free loves we all experience because
it’s the way life is.
I’ve come through emotional and physical difficulties: a severe childhood illness – family alcoholism – being bullied –
coming out gay – not having a job – the AIDS epidemic of the late 70’s – the global financial crisis of 2008 –
September 11th Attacks on New York City…
Those were hard times! And I survived with other people’s help to stay standing. Making the choice to be strong, to learn and to live better and it has always turned out to be better. That’s the amazing truth.
I’ve also come through great loves: gardening for more than 50 years – studying acting and singing – teaching – college – getting my Actor’s Equity Card and performing across America – being deeply in love for the past 25 years – using my life and vocations of coaching and real estate to help other people feel at home in the world and in themselves.
I’m confident we’ll come through this pandemic! That there is something better coming.
I’m reminded of these powerful and kind words of the poet Rumi:
“Do not worry that your life is turning upside down.
How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?”
Thanks – Michael
Please pass this post out to the others for strength and love.
