Buccaneer
by Michael Feeley
Buccaneer came up in a conversation the other day, and it stuck with me, so I did some research because it’s a robust and pleasurable word that matters today.
It is another name for a pirate, but it also applies to people in different occupations I know you recognize: politics, finances, business, and more.
It means a clever, successful person you may not trust—a freebooter (another fun word) who is ruthless, lives for plunder and loot, and seeks pleasure and wealth without responsibility. Unscrupulous also fills out buccaneer.
Many people in history and the present day come to mind.
If you want to be brave and bold, ask yourself – Where have I been a buccaneer in my life and work?
Thanks – Michael (he, him)

This also matters – Honor and Dishonor.
