Bona Fide
by Michael Feeley
Bona Fide means authentic, genuine, true, ‘the real McCoy.’
The Latin translation means ‘in good faith’ without deception or fraud.
It could be a signed book’s first edition, a Georgia O’Keeffe painting, or a Galle glass vase.
If we go deeper and think about bona fide people, an expert perhaps, we’re talking about someone with experience, knowledge, and skills. Someone being true to themselves, creative, generous, honest, and trustworthy.
We can each make the choice to be bona fide. To live up to our values and beliefs and commit to doing this always.
