Accomplishments

Accomplishment
What does this word mean to you?
What things come to mind that you are proud you have accomplished?
Perhaps it’s a degree or certificate, a project you took part in, a relationship, a book you read, a hobby, or helping someone.
You don’t need to have written a best-selling book or won an award of note. It’s what matters to you. You to yourself. Your meaningful accomplishment.
I wasn’t a good reader when I was growing up. I avoided books and hated to read out loud in school because I made a lot of mistakes.
I remember discovering Helen Keller when watching the TV movie, The Miracle Worker. I was deeply affected by her struggles and how she accomplished so much in her life that I went to the library and took out a copy of her book The Story of My Life, an autobiographical account by Helen Keller describing her early experiences and education as a deaf and blind individual.
I read the book all the way through and had tremendous pleasure. This is one accomplishment I’m forever proud of. Helen Keller gave me hope and inspiration. She changed how I saw reading. She is a hero of mine.
See what I’m saying about being proud of an accomplishment because it matters to you.
What is your story of accomplishment?
